These affiliate partnerships do not influence our editorial content. <\/em> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/apple-tv-plus\">Apple TV+<\/a> is currently working on a series reboot of the 1991 romantic drama film, with Barbra Streisand returning to direct the project.\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>Based on Pat Conroy&#8217;s 1986 novel, &#8220;Prince of Tides,&#8221; follows a man that falls in love with his twin sister&#8217;s psychiatrist. As the story progresses he learns that many of his sister&#8217;s issues \u2014 as well as his own \u2014 stem from traumatic events in his childhood.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>Conroy is also a co-writer of this <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/apple-tv-plus\">Apple TV+<\/a> series, alongside Becky Johnson. The series is set to be directed by Streisand, who both directed and starred in the original film.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>There has yet to be any casting decisions for the series, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/prince-of-tides-tv-series-in-the-works-at-apple-1235140598\/\">a report<\/a> by <em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>The 1991 film adaptation was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AppleInsider is supported by its audience and may earn commission as an Amazon Associate and affiliate partner on qualifying purchases.
