This rather substantial update to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was expected once the new year rolled over, and though it missed the month of January, the wait for the new update will end next week.<\/p>\n<p>Tetsuya Takahashi\u2014the game\u2019s director\u2014recently confirmed the update comes out sometime next week, while describing in detail what all will be changed. Here\u2019s the full list of changes, courtesy of ResetEra, though be warned that there may be some spoilers:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quality of Life:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blades can be locked so they aren\u2019t accidentally released<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The Core Crystal bonding scene can be skipped <em>(finally)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>When the mini-map is enlarged, icons form the skip travel map will be displayed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Easy Mode is being added<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A new sorting option for items is being added<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Advanced New Game Mode:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unlocked once you beat the game once<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Torna\u2019s Blades (Obrona, Sever, Perdido, and Cressidus) can be obtained and equipped Blades<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Torna\u2019s Drivers (Akhos, Patroka, and Mikhail) can be obtained and equipped as Blades<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>All Blades can be dispatched on Mercenary Missions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Adds new skills to Driver skill trees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A Driver\u2019s level can be lowered at inns, granting more bonus EXP in battles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Bonus EXP can be spent on items, with one allowing you to hold more accessories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Things carried over:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Driver Levels<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Unlocked skills for Drivers and Blades<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Blades<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Items and Gold<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mercenary Ranking Level<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Town Development Level<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Unique Monster Kills<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cutscenes<\/p>\n<p>*Quests, Heart to Hearts, Skip Travel Points, and Mercenary Missions <em>don\u2019t<\/em> carry over<\/p>\n<p>What do you think?
