These affiliate partnerships do not influence our editorial content. <\/em> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Repair company iFixit has done a teardown of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/Mac-Studio\">Mac Studio<\/a>, showing Apple&#8217;s intricate cooling system for the high-performance system and how to take apart the device.\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>As it <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/21\/10\/29\/ifixit-16-inch-macbook-pro-teardown-reveals-a-more-repairable-design\">has before<\/a> with devices such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/16-inch-MacBook-Pro\">16-inch MacBook Pro<\/a>, iFixit has done an initial teardown of Apple&#8217;s latest device. It&#8217;s done with the aim of discovering how repairable \u2014 or not \u2014 a device is.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>At some point later, iFixit will ultimately produce a written and illustrated guide to precisely how a Mac Studio can be taken apart for repairs. For now, though, it&#8217;s done a quick video overview showing the Mac&#8217;s components.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 embed\">\n<div class=\"align-center\">\n<p>[youtube https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TYF527DqnwY]<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>The cooling system takes up roughly half of the Mac&#8217;s internal space. The most noticeable part is the aluminum heatsink on the M1 Max version and the copper thermal module in the M1 Ultra edition.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>The video also discusses the slotted storage in the Mac Studio. The company could swap out like-for-like on flash modules but had no success putting in a larger or smaller one.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>A teardown of the Studio Display was also teased. The company noted that it not only looks like an iMac, but it comes apart in much the same way.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>The Mac Studio was given a 6 out of 10 for repairability.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>The possibility of repair is perhaps becoming more of an issue as Apple plans to roll out its <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/21\/11\/17\/apple-will-allow-customers-to-repair-iphones-and-macs-in-2022\">Self Service Repair program<\/a> for M1 Macs and iPhones.
