{"id":121763,"date":"2020-12-08T21:48:00","date_gmt":"2020-12-08T21:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/374933"},"modified":"2020-12-08T21:48:00","modified_gmt":"2020-12-08T21:48:00","slug":"curve-digital-appoints-former-tencent-and-sega-exec-john-clark-as-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2020\/12\/08\/curve-digital-appoints-former-tencent-and-sega-exec-john-clark-as-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"Curve Digital appoints former Tencent and Sega exec John Clark as CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Human: Fall Flat <\/em>and <em>Hotshot Racing<\/em> publisher Curve Digital has named former SEGA and Tencent exec John Clark as its new CEO.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Clark served as VP of partnerships in Europe during his time at Tencent, and before that spent 13 years at Sega Europe working as the EVP of publishing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The appointment comes a few weeks after Curve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/373027\/Curve_Digital_acquires_For_the_King_developer_IronOak_Games.php\">acquired<em> For the King<\/em> developer IronOak Games<\/a> for an undisclosed fee.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the time of the acquisition, Curve said it was &#8220;looking at more acquisitions&#8221; in a bid to scale up,&nbsp; and it seems Clark has been brought in to oversee proceedings as the UK publisher continues to expand.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019ve been impressed with Curve Digital\u2019s growth over the past few years, and I\u2019m delighted and honored to be joining the team,&#8221; commented Clark.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have a great portfolio of developer partnerships, some great franchises and have added to our team of talent thanks to the acquisitions of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/338807\/Bomber_Crew_dev_Runner_Deck_acquired_by_Catalis.php\">Runner Deck<\/a> and IronOak studios.
