Key features of the 4.2 release include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New particle editor for direct creation of particle systems in the Inspector<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sickgaming.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/babylon-js-4-2-game-engine-released.png\" alt class=\"wp-image-23958\" width=\"380\" height=\"194\"><figcaption>New Node System in Babylon.js<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>new Sprite Editor built into the Inspector to create, control and save sprites<\/li>\n<li><span>new Skeleton viewer to visual bones and bone weights in Inspector<\/span><\/li>\n<li>texture inspector for debugging texture issues<\/li>\n<li>PBR support in the Node material editor with access to metallic, roughness, clearcoat, sheen etc when creating materials<\/li>\n<li>new Procedural Texture, Particle Shader, Post Processing modes added to the Node editor<\/li>\n<li>reusable frames in Node Material editor, enabling you to reuse shader code between projects easily<\/li>\n<li>playground templates, essentially quick access code snippets in the code editor using Ctrl+Space<\/li>\n<li>direct support for pre-filtered .hdr files<\/li>\n<li>support for React Native for creating native applications<\/li>\n<li>KTX + Basis U texture compression support<\/li>\n<li>much, much more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can learn more about the release <a href=\"https:\/\/babylonjs.medium.com\/babylon-js-4-2-simplicity-reimagined-965f88d0fad\">in this article here<\/a> or by watching the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aiTAfDB8Dis\">video <\/a>below.
