The trademarks were filed on 7th September 2020, with both applications being published today, 23rd September, arriving just days after Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2020\/09\/nintendo_creatures_and_game_freak_file_trademark_for_the_legendary_pokemon_entei\">applied for a trademark for legendary Pok\u00e9mon, Entei<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can see them for yourself below:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"picture strip\"><\/figure>\n<p>So, does this mean we should expect a rerelease, or perhaps a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/pokemon_lets_go_pikachu_and_lets_go_eevee\">Let&#8217;s Go<\/a>-style game with the HeartGold and SoulSilver branding? We&#8217;d argue probably not.<\/p>\n<p>While the trademarks are bound to set tongues wagging across the internet, the reality is that most trademarks tend to expire after ten years. Pok\u00e9mon HeartGold And SoulSilver launched in 2009\/2010 depending on your region, so it&#8217;s very possible that these new applications are simply renewing existing trademarks.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s not to say that something isn&#8217;t in the works, but it might be best to rein in any remake dreams.
