The Japanese company was behind some of the best shmups of the &#8217;80s and &#8217;90s, and when it eventually closed in 1994, studios like Eighting and Cave would rise from its ashes.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re already assured of some superb Toaplan action on modern consoles <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2020\/04\/m2_is_making_a_stupidly_expensive_shooter_more_affordable_on_home_consoles\">thanks to the efforts on M2<\/a>, but it&#8217;s also worth noting that <a class=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/retro-bit.com\/toaplan-shooters\/\">Retro-Bit is republishing a bunch of classic Toalplan shooters<\/a> for the Sega Genesis \/ Mega Drive.<\/p>\n<p>The company has teamed up with former Toaplan staffer <a class=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vgmpf.com\/Wiki\/index.php\/Masahiro_Yuge#:~:text=Masahiro%20Yuge%20was%20a%20Japanese,training%20process%2C%20he%20was%20hired.\">Masahiro Yuge<\/a> to present special collector&#8217;s editions of <strong>Fire Shark \/ Same! Same! Same!, Hellfire, Zero Wing<\/strong> and <strong>Truxton \/ Tatsujin<\/strong>.
