Mario Kart Tour<\/strong><\/a> is kicking off a brand new event today which celebrates the series’ very first title released way back in 1992.<\/p>\n

You may have spotted its announcement during last week’s Mario 35th Anniversary Direct<\/a>; the event runs from now until 22nd September and will feature special appearances from Mario and Donkey Kong Jr. as they appeared in the original Super Mario Kart<\/a><\/strong> game for the SNES.<\/p>\n

The 16-bit Mario variant will be featured in the first part of this tour, speeding onto the track alongside the classic 8-Bit Pipe Frame\u2013the standard kart used in the early Mario Kart titles. Nintendo says that it “even moves like the original too”, so expect to experience a decent wave of nostalgia when you drive it for the first time.<\/p>\n
