{"id":115807,"date":"2020-07-24T23:02:04","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T23:02:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/20\/07\/24\/apple-employees-granted-paid-time-off-to-vote-in-us-election"},"modified":"2020-07-24T23:02:04","modified_gmt":"2020-07-24T23:02:04","slug":"apple-employees-granted-paid-time-off-to-vote-in-us-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2020\/07\/24\/apple-employees-granted-paid-time-off-to-vote-in-us-election\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple employees granted paid time off to vote in US election"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sickgaming.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/apple-employees-granted-paid-time-off-to-vote-in-us-election.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Apple is offering retail and hourly employees time off to vote in the U.S. election in November, according to a report on Friday. <\/p>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>Apple SVP of retail and staff Deidre O&#8217;Brien <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-07-24\/apple-to-give-employees-paid-time-off-to-vote-in-u-s-election\">announced<\/a> the policy in a memo circulated this week, reports <em>Bloomberg<\/em>.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>&#8220;For retail team members and hourly workers across the company, if you&#8217;re scheduled to work this Election Day, we&#8217;ll be providing up to four hours of paid time off if you need it to get to the polls,&#8221; O&#8217;Brien said. &#8220;If they choose, our teams can also use this time to volunteer as an election worker at one of your local polling stations.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>The company is allowing up to four hours of paid leave on Election Day, which falls on Nov. 3. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>Apple joins a number of major tech companies including Lyft, Twitter and Uber to offer employees time off to vote.
