{"id":114461,"date":"2020-06-21T08:30:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-21T08:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2020\/06\/ea_wants_to_bring_more_games_to_more_platforms_-_including_nintendo_switch"},"modified":"2020-06-21T08:30:00","modified_gmt":"2020-06-21T08:30:00","slug":"ea-wants-to-bring-more-games-to-more-platforms-including-nintendo-switch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2020\/06\/21\/ea-wants-to-bring-more-games-to-more-platforms-including-nintendo-switch\/","title":{"rendered":"EA Wants To Bring More Games To More Platforms &#8211; Including Nintendo Switch"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"media_block\"><a href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/679cb32f592a1\/large.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/679cb32f592a1\/small.jpg\" class=\"media_thumbnail\"><\/a><\/div>\n<figure class=\"picture strip\">\n<div class=\"img\"><a title=\"EA Logo - Nintendo Life IMG\" href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/679cb32f592a1\/ea-logo-nintendo-life-img.original.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/679cb32f592a1\/ea-logo-nintendo-life-img.900x.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" alt=\"EA Logo - Nintendo Life IMG\"><\/a><span class=\"image-credit\" title=\"Image Credit\">Nintendo Life<\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The day after EA Play Live, in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, EA&#8217;s Chief Studios Officer Laura Miele spoke about how the third-party publisher wanted to make its games more widely available moving forward.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We want players to be able to play our games where they want to, which is why we&#8217;re bringing more games to more platforms including Stadia, Steam, Switch and Epic Game Store.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Switch is obviously a big part of these plans &#8211; with EA noting how it would be bringing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2020\/06\/ea_is_bringing_seven_games_to_nintendo_switch_over_the_next_12_months\">seven games to Nintendo&#8217;s hybrid platform over the next 12 months<\/a> during its annual presentation.<\/p>\n<p>In recent times, the publishing giant has also returned to Valve&#8217;s platform Steam, after dropping support for it in 2011 in favour of its own digital platform, Origin.<\/p>\n<p>Part of its plan to expand is by making a &#8220;big push&#8221; on cross-play, to make titles like <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/apex_legends\">Apex Legends<\/a><\/strong> more accessible &#8211; with Miele explaining how playing games should be about connecting with others, regardless of platform, and that hardware is not necessarily a barrier nowadays.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re also making a big push on cross-play, because we know a fundamental motivation in playing games is about connecting with friends and family who may choose to play on a different console or platform.
