If you didn&#8217;t already know, according to the support section on its <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/en-americas-support.nintendo.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/1981\/kw\/refund%20request\">American website<\/a>, Nintendo is unable to provide refunds or exchanges for &#8220;mistaken&#8221; purchases.<\/p>\n<p>That <em>might<\/em> have changed now (at least in North America), as earlier today, the official Nintendo of America Twitter account shared the following tweet:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>When purchasing the Pok\u00e9mon Sword Expansion Pass or Pok\u00e9mon Shield Expansion Pass, please ensure you select the one that corresponds with the version of the game you own. If you mistakenly purchased the incorrect pass, please contact customer support.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It seems the expansion purchase is still confusing players, so Nintendo has now decided to forward anyone who has purchased the wrong pass directly to the <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/en-americas-support.nintendo.com\/app\/contact\">contact webpage<\/a> so their problems can be sorted out right away.<\/p>\n<p>The safest way to grab the correct Expansion Pass DLC is by purchasing it within your own copy of the game.
