{"id":114286,"date":"2020-06-18T02:05:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-18T02:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2020\/06\/random_so_much_for_level_scaling_in_pokemons_isle_of_armor_dlc"},"modified":"2020-06-18T02:05:00","modified_gmt":"2020-06-18T02:05:00","slug":"random-so-much-for-level-scaling-in-pokemons-isle-of-armor-dlc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2020\/06\/18\/random-so-much-for-level-scaling-in-pokemons-isle-of-armor-dlc\/","title":{"rendered":"Random: So Much For Level Scaling In Pok\u00e9mon&#8217;s Isle Of Armor DLC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"media_block\"><a href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/67ad1ddc02ca9\/large.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/67ad1ddc02ca9\/small.jpg\" class=\"media_thumbnail\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/67ad1ddc02ca9\/1280x720.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<figure class=\"picture strip\"><\/figure>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve sunk your teeth into the first part of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/pokemon_sword_and_shield\">Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/a><\/strong> DLC, by now you&#8217;ve probably noticed that the <em>Isle of Armor<\/em> expansion doesn&#8217;t actually feature the level scaling we were originally promised.<\/p>\n<p>Yep, although Nintendo product marketing specialist Demetrius Boggs told IGN earlier this week that the DLC areas would even scale to match a team of level 100 Pok\u00e9mon, it seems this is not the case. <strong><br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>IGN:<\/strong> People are reporting in actuality, the cap is similar to the mainland&#8217;s original Wild Area, which is Level 60, but with some Pokemon and encounters reaching Level 80. <em>The DLC seems to scale with badges as the original Wild Area does, and can be started as soon as the Wild Area is reached.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Pok\u00e9mon dataminer and Twitter user <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SciresM\">@SciresM<\/a> (thanks, <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/nintendoeverything.com\/pokemon-sword-shield-the-isle-of-armor-doesnt-scale-to-your-partys-level-after-all\/\">Nintendo Everything<\/a>) took a closer look and confirmed party levels have &#8220;zero&#8221; impact. Like IGN, they also believe this new content scales to badges <em>&#8211;<\/em> <em>keep in mind, this is still being investigated<\/em>.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-tweet\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p><span lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I guess it&#8217;s possible it scales to level before you beat the champion or something, but all the levels are ~60 regardless of party content in endgame state.<\/p>\n<p>Scaling to # badges seems most likely to me, looking for the code at the moment.<\/p>\n<p><\/span>\u2014 Michael (@SciresM) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SciresM\/status\/1273263877476646912?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 17, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Over on social media, some trainers got quite the surprise when they decided to take a new low-level party of Pok\u00e9mon to the Isle of Armor (based on the original confirmation of level scaling).
