Today, The Pok\u00e9mon Company has issued a statement announcing that it will donate a “minimum” of $5 million to charity.<\/p>\n

The money will be going to nonprofit organisations working toward “improving the lives of children with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion”. The notice comes after Pok\u00e9mon GO<\/strong><\/a> developer Niantic revealed<\/a> that it would be donating proceeds from Pok\u00e9mon GO Fest 2020 ticket sales, also committing a minimum of $5 million to “fund new projects from Black gaming and AR creators” and for “US nonprofit organisations that are helping local communities rebuild”.<\/p>\n

The Pok\u00e9mon Company says that a list of charities receiving donations will be shared soon.<\/p>\n

Last week, Pok\u00e9mon also shared a message of solidarity to Black Lives Matter, as well as its employees and fans who “continue to be impacted by systemic racism and senseless violence”.<\/p>\n
