For the first time, players could choose a female or male character, Pok\u00e9mon battles featured animation, and more. And now, this Virtual Console\u2122 release is available for the first time in Nintendo eShop on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/3ds\/\">Nintendo 3DS<\/a>\u2122 family of systems for only $9.99. *<\/p>\n<p>In this version of <em>Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em>, players also have the chance to encounter the mythical Pok\u00e9mon Celebi in an event after completing the game. In the original <em>Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em> game, Celebi could only be obtained by using a special accessory.<\/p>\n<p>As with the Nintendo eShop editions of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/games\/detail\/pokemon-gold-version-3ds\"><em>Pok\u00e9mon Gold<\/em><\/a> and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/games\/detail\/pokemon-silver-version-3ds\">Pok\u00e9mon Silver<\/a><\/em> games, <em>Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em> takes advantage of the wireless communication capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, allowing players to enjoy Link Trades and Link Battles with each other. With the Time Capsule feature, players can even trade and battle Pok\u00e9mon from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/games\/detail\/pokemon-red-version-3ds\"><em>Pok\u00e9mon Red<\/em><\/a>, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/games\/detail\/pokemon-blue-version-3ds\">Pok\u00e9mon Blue<\/a><\/em>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/games\/detail\/pokemon-yellow-special-pikachu-edition-3ds\"><em>Pok\u00e9mon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition<\/em><\/a>, which are also available in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS (additional games and systems required; sold separately).<\/p>\n<p>But that\u2019s not all! Fans can now play <em>Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em> on a New Nintendo 2DS\u2122 XL system that features Pikachu\u2019s iconic face, now available in stores at a suggested retail price of $159.99.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/2ds\/buynow#new-nintendo-2ds-xl-pikachu\">New Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition system<\/a> is just as electric as the Pok\u00e9mon itself, with an eye-catching yellow design featuring a stylized close-up of Pikachu\u2019s face. This special edition system is a must-have for Pok\u00e9mon fans! As with all Nintendo 2DS systems, the New Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition system plays Nintendo 3DS games in 2D.
