Marvelous says that it believes a larger investment is necessary to keep up with advances in technology and the changes in people&#8217;s lifestyles that will be seen as a result.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership aims to create brand new IP which will be successful worldwide, as well as globally expand the franchises already owned by Marvelous like <strong>Story of Seasons<\/strong> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/daemon_x_machina\"><strong>Daemon X Machina<\/strong><\/a>. Of course, back in March 2019, it was revealed that Marvelous had signed a licensing agreement with Tencent to develop a new Story of Seasons smartphone game.<\/p>\n<p>The latest release in the Story of Seasons franchise, a Switch remake of Game Boy Advance&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/story_of_seasons_friends_of_mineral_town\"><strong>Friends of Mineral Town<\/strong><\/a>, is set to launch this July. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/bayonetta\"><strong>Bayonetta<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/wonderful_101_remastered\"><strong>The Wonderful 101<\/strong><\/a> developer PlatinumGames also recently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2020\/01\/platinumgames_receives_investment_from_tencent_to_explore_self-publishing\">received a capital investment from Tencent<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Japanese developer and publisher Marvelous has announced that it is set to enter into a &#8216;capital and business alliance&#8217; with Image Frame Investment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chinese tech giant, Tencent (thanks, Famitsu).
