However, traditional electrolarynx devices to restore&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">speaking capabilities&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">can&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">only produce a monotonic robot-like voice and requir<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;the use of one hand to talk. This can cause social and communication issues<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;for the user<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, which the team hopes to solve.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Leveraging Azure Notebooks technology, Syrinx\u2019s device vibrates the user&#8217;s throat to create&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;sound that matches the movement of the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ir&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">mouth, then uses neural networks to learn the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;characteristics of the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;lost voice&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">in order to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">restore it. This allows Syrinx to produce a more natural<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;sounding<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;human voice through their device, including both male and female voice patterns.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cNext step is to increase users for the beta test to try out this device.
