It&#8217;s also been supported by some post-launch DLC characters, the latest of which has caused quite a stir online.<\/p>\n<p>Newly-released character Iroha is pretty typical of an SNK-designed fighter \u2013 heck, she&#8217;s pretty typical of a female fighting game character <em>full stop<\/em>. She&#8217;s got a massive chest and shapely bottom, and, upon her introduction in <strong>Samurai Shodown VI<\/strong>, was apparently designed to be &#8216;mostly nude&#8217; \u2013 one of her specials actually has her <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wqxZySOoyw4\">performing a suplex in the buff<\/a>. Nobuyuki Kuroki \u2013 the director of the 2019 reboot \u2013 has <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/snk.fandom.com\/wiki\/Iroha\">commented<\/a> that he was against her inclusion to the starting roster of the game as he felt it would be at odds with its atmosphere \u2013 which gives you some indication of how sexed-up this particular character is, even by SNK&#8217;s standards.<\/p>\n<p>When the DLC dropped, SNK&#8217;s official Samurai Shodown Twitter account wasted absolutely no time whatsoever in pushing the saucier elements of the character. As reported by <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/kotaku.com\/samurai-shodown-twitter-account-walks-back-overly-horny-1843400788\">Kotaku<\/a>, the account started retweeting screens taken from Iroha&#8217;s reveal trailer, most of which focused on &#8216;physical assets&#8217; than her fighting skills. This stream of cheesecake culminated in the comment \u201cWe all horny on main tonight&#8221; from the official Samurai Shodown account.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"picture strip\"><a title=\"Samurai Shodown Iroha\" href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/5672a6430cfdd\/samurai-shodown-iroha.original.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/static.nintendolife.com\/blank.gif\" data-original=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/5672a6430cfdd\/samurai-shodown-iroha.original.jpg\" alt=\"Samurai Shodown Iroha\"><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>While a great many Samurai Shodown fans no doubt appreciated the sentiment \u2013 this is the company which gave the world Mai Shiranui, after all \u2013 some of the game&#8217;s followers expressed their concern that such tweets made them feel uncomfortable:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"picture strip\"><a title=\"Samurai Shodown Iroha\" href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/23072d10a24d4\/samurai-shodown-iroha.original.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/static.nintendolife.com\/blank.gif\" data-original=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/23072d10a24d4\/samurai-shodown-iroha.original.png\" alt=\"Samurai Shodown Iroha\"><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>By Monday morning, it was all over. The tweets had been expunged from the account&#8217;s timeline and were replaced by an apology:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"picture strip\"><a title=\"Samurai Shodown Iroha\" href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/c7f74838515db\/samurai-shodown-iroha.original.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/static.nintendolife.com\/blank.gif\" data-original=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/c7f74838515db\/samurai-shodown-iroha.original.png\" alt=\"Samurai Shodown Iroha\"><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>Given the ratio of male to female players in the fighting game arena, it shouldn&#8217;t come as a massive shock to learn that the reaction to this self-censorship has been overwhelmingly negative, and has triggered a flood of insults aimed at those whose complaints led to it.
