Last week, there was a story doing the rounds about an 88-year-old grandmother named Audrey Buchanan, who received<\/a> a brand new themed Switch after she became famous for clocking up more than 3,500 hours<\/a> in Animal Crossing: New Leaf<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the time, it was believed she had been immortalised<\/a> in the new entry Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/a><\/strong> with a character named after her, but it turns out this may not necessarily be the case. NBC’s Today<\/a> recently reached out to Nintendo to ask if it was true. According to the news outlet, Nintendo was “unwilling” to comment about this:<\/p>\n

TODAY reached out to Nintendo to confirm whether or not the game’s “Audie” character is named after Buchanan, but the company was unwilling to comment.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
