{"id":109987,"date":"2020-03-06T23:19:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-06T23:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/359252"},"modified":"2020-03-06T23:19:00","modified_gmt":"2020-03-06T23:19:00","slug":"2k-games-is-the-latest-publisher-to-pull-games-from-geforce-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2020\/03\/06\/2k-games-is-the-latest-publisher-to-pull-games-from-geforce-now\/","title":{"rendered":"2K Games is the latest publisher to pull games from GeForce Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All 2K Games titles have been removed from Nvidia&#8217;s GeForce&nbsp;Now streaming service today, though the company representative making the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/geforce\/forums\/gfn-announcements\/22\/346564\/2k-games-on-geforce-now\/?subId1=xid:fr1583534242484daj&amp;cjevent=0cf6b0825ffb11ea83c8025c0a1c0e0c\">announcement<\/a> noted that Nvidia is working with 2K to get them back.<\/p>\n<p>This is notable because, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/2020\/3\/6\/21168551\/nvidia-geforce-now-list-of-games-taken-down-2k-games\">Polygon points out<\/a>, 2K (with a catalog that includes everything from&nbsp;<em>Civilization VI&nbsp;<\/em>to&nbsp;<em>Borderlands 3<\/em>)&nbsp;is just the latest in a string of high-profile publishers&nbsp;pulling some or all of their games from GeForce Now in the last month.<\/p>\n<p>While GeForce Now (which allows subscribers to pay for access to remote computers capable&nbsp;of streaming PC games they own to other devices) has existed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/230119\/Nvidia_launches_its_own_game_streaming_service_called_GRID.php\">some form<\/a> for years, Nvidia only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/357586\/Now_out_of_beta_GeForce_Now_offers_cloudbased_streaming_of_owned_Steam_and_EGS_games.php\">brought it out of beta<\/a> last month. Since then, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/358023\/Activision_Blizzard_pulls_support_for_Nvidias_GeForce_Now_streaming_platform.php\">Activision Blizzard<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/358570\/Bethesda_Softworks_pulls_all_games_but_Wolfenstein_Youngblood_from_GeForce_Now.php\">Bethesda Softworks<\/a> called on Nvidia to stop streaming all of their games (except&nbsp;<em>Wolfenstein: Youngblood<\/em>), as did&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/358989\/Hinterland_Studio_pulls_The_Long_Dark_from_Nvidia_GeForce_Now.php\"><em>The Long Dark&nbsp;<\/em>developer<\/a> Hinterland Studio.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sorry to those who are disappointed you can no longer play<em>&nbsp;The Long Dark&nbsp;<\/em>on GeForce Now,&#8221; wrote Hinterland founder Raphael von Lierop at the time. &#8220;Nvidia didn&#8217;t ask for our permission to put the game on the platform so we asked them to remove it. Please take your complaints to them, not us.
