Ultimate<\/a><\/strong> director Masahiro Sakurai uploaded a picture from the Switch entry to <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Sora_Sakurai\/status\/1232500719527137283\">Twitter<\/a>, featuring Pit from the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nes\/kid_icarus\">Kid Icarus<\/a><\/strong> series (see above). It sent many of his followers into a frenzy, as the Battlefield level in the background (picturing Inkling Girl) was actually the one from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/wiiu\/super_smash_bros_for_wii_u\">Super Smash Bros. for Wii U<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>While many thought it was likely to be an older build of Ultimate, before the game&#8217;s own unique Battlefield level had been constructed (<a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/hdN242EblxU\">credit to GameXplain<\/a>), it also led to wild speculation that the previous Battlefield stages could be making a return as DLC. It appears this is not the case, though. Sakurai noticed how <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NintenZ\/status\/1232533915396706304\">some fans<\/a> responded and decided to stamp this out right away with the following <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Sora_Sakurai\/status\/1232863954407325701\">English tweet<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Yesterday I posted a pic showing what looks like an old version of Battlefield. This was a dev stage we used to check how the game&#8217;s fighter models would look using a common light source, etc. You won&#8217;t find this in the final version of the game!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p>So, there you have it \u2013 the stage seen in Sakurai&#8217;s Super Smash Bros.
