It’s easy to forget the Switch Online smartphone app is a thing<\/em>. The last major update it received was tied to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/a><\/strong> stage builder and since then it’s got a handful of updates making some minor adjustments and changes. Prior to this, support was added to the app for Splatoon 2<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Although it’s not got the best reputation, it seems like Nintendo will be sticking with it as a communicative and social tool. On the same official game page for Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/a><\/strong> that mentions “in-game purchases<\/a>“, there’s a section below this that confirms it will support the Nintendo Switch smartphone app.<\/p>\n
