LG announced plans to Integrate AirPlay 2 and HomeKit <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/19\/07\/24\/lg-will-roll-out-out-airplay-2-and-homekit-to-2019-smart-tvs-on-thursday\">last July<\/a>, and subsequently rolled out the feature as part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/19\/07\/30\/lg-begins-airplay-2-homekit-update-process-for-some-2019-tvs\">software update<\/a> issued later that month.<\/p>\n<p>LG plans to bake the Apple TV app into select UHD TVs (series UM7X and UM6X) in February, while both the app and Apple TV+ will be made available on 2018 model year TVs later this year through an over-the-air firmware release.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s news arrives almost a month after LG at CES said the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ would arrive on <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/20\/01\/06\/lg-bringing-apple-tv-app-to-smart-tvs-in-2020\">2020 model year smart TVs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; By AppleInsider Staff Monday, February 03, 2020, 05:59 pm PT (08:59 pm ET) LG on Monday announced select 2019 smart TVs now benefit from integration with the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ service, with availability rolling out in the U.S. and more than 80 other countries.
