Since then, Retro Studios has been recruiting like no tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Now, according to VGC, the Texas-based studio has hired DICE&#8217;s art director Jhony Ljungstedt. He&#8217;s helped with the art direction for multiple EA blockbusters, including <strong>Mirrors Edge Catalyst<\/strong>, <strong>Battlefield V<\/strong>, <strong>Medal of Honor<\/strong>, and even expansion packs like <strong>Battlefield 3: Close Quarters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what Ljunstedt had to say over on <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/se.linkedin.com\/in\/jhony-ljungstedt?trk=public-post_share-update_actor-text\">LinkedIn<\/a> about this move:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Today was my last day at DICE and it\u2019s with mixed feelings I\u2019m leaving something that\u2019s been part of my life for such a long time. It\u2019s been great journey and I feel privileged to have got the chance to work with all the talented people at DICE, you will all be missed&#8230; Now I\u2019m ready for a new chapter in my life, and looking forward to my new journey at Retro Studios.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p>VGC believes he&#8217;s been hired for Metroid Prime 4, but there&#8217;s always the possibility the studio could have other plans for him. It&#8217;s also worth mention that Retro has also been seeking an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2019\/06\/retro_studios_is_seeking_an_art_director_for_metroid_prime_4\">art director<\/a> since last June.<\/p>\n<p>This follows on from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2019\/10\/metroid_prime_4_dev_retro_studios_hires_halo_character_modeller_as_new_lead_artist\">recruitment<\/a> of <strong>Halo<\/strong> series character modeller Kyle Hefley last October. At the start of this year, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/donkey_kong_country_tropical_freeze\"><strong>Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze<\/strong><\/a> lead designer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2020\/01\/donkey_kong_tropical_freezes_lead_designer_has_reportedly_returned_to_retro_studios\">returned<\/a> to the studio as well.<\/p>\n<p><em>This sounds like another great recruitment for Retro, given Ljungstedt&#8217;s experience with the first-person genre.
