There\u2019s plenty of games using physics for like \u2018hey look at this thing blow up\u2019 or \u2018look at these rag dolls\u2019 but they\u2019re kind of just decorations,&#8221; says Austin. &#8220;Making gameplay out of physics is really really hard because\u2026 I\u2019ve heard people say like \u2018oh, I\u2019ll just add physics and that\u2019ll add emerging gameplay.\u2019 The problem is most of the stuff that emerges sucks and is not fun to do. It\u2019s a matter of weeding out and figuring out how to control that physics and make that playable for the average person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The duo dive into how those physics develop in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Y3n0MBRAQjw\">full video<\/a>, discussing how the unique physics of the titular Gish itself had a major bearing on how everything from levels to controls were designed.
