Famitsu’s Japanese chart figures are now in for 16th December – 22nd December and once again Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/strong><\/a> have placed at the very top. This makes this the sixth week in a row Game Freak’s latest entries in the long-running series have been first.<\/p>\n

Apart from this, Luigi’s Mansion 3<\/a><\/strong> has jumped from fourth to second place and Ring Fit Adventure<\/a><\/strong> remains in third. Noticeably, every other game in the top 10 is a Nintendo Switch title. Outside of Nintendo’s first-party offerings, we have Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020<\/a><\/strong> by Sega, Fishing Spirits: Nintendo Switch Version<\/strong> by Bandai Namco and Minecraft<\/a><\/strong> by Microsoft Game Studios. 27 of the top 30 games for this week were also Switch releases.<\/p>\n

On the hardware front, Switch sales continue to grow. Compared to last week, the sales of both the standard and Lite models have improved. According to ResetEra, the Switch still needs to shift around 255k units in Week 52 to match last year’s December sales. Despite this, it’s still apparently the biggest week of the year for the hybrid system so far, with sales of both systems outperforming<\/a> the launch week sales of the Switch Lite in September.<\/p>\n

As for Nintendo’s older devices, 2DS LL sales dropped while regular 3DS sales ever so slightly increased. Even Sony experienced a fantastic week with its PlayStation 4 hardware sales seeing a significant boost. Here are this week’s figures, followed by lifetime sales in brackets:<\/p>\n
