The screenwriter, Takeshi Shudo \u2013 who passed away in 2010 \u2013 has now been recognised for his efforts, with the Tokyo Anime Award Festival announcing he&#8217;ll be receiving a posthumous lifetime achievement anime award.<\/p>\n<p>Takeshi was also the lead writer of the Pok\u00e9mon anime series from the show&#8217;s beginning in 1997 up until 2002. Shudo worked on plenty of other anime such as <em>GoShogun<\/em> but is best remembered for his work on the Pok\u00e9mon series over the years.<\/p>\n<p>Hisao Shirai \u2013 who passed away earlier this year \u2013 and was Director of Photography on many of the Pok\u00e9mon films and anime over the years has also received a lifetime achievement anime award.
