However, where there&#8217;s a will, there&#8217;s a way, and modders are already hard at work filling in the gaps where they can.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter user <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SciresM\">SciresM<\/a> has been documenting his exploits online, and managed to insert an Omastar from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/pokemon_lets_go_pikachu_and_lets_go_eevee\">Let&#8217;s Go Pikachu and Eevee<\/a><\/strong> into the latest game.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-tweet\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p><span lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Animation on entering battle is pretty broken, but it works okay other than that.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously stats are broken (didn&#8217;t fix the personal entry yet), and this was originally an edited yamper that I didn&#8217;t bother giving legitimate moves. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/m1C8CzDQCt\">pic.twitter.com\/m1C8CzDQCt<\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/span>\u2014 Michael (@SciresM) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SciresM\/status\/1196342543425781760?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 18, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/aside>\n<p>For the example shown, Yamper&#8217;s entry was edited using the save editor PKHeX, but Omastar hasn&#8217;t supplanted Yamper \u2013 instead, it has been given its own unique ID. The catch is that Omastar lacks some key animations that are unique to the game, such as Dynamaxing.<\/p>\n<p>Another problem is filling in monsters which weren&#8217;t present in the Let&#8217;s Go games \u2013 3DS models could potentially be used, but it&#8217;s not yet known if it&#8217;s possible. However, SciresM appears to suggest that the job isn&#8217;t one he&#8217;s willing to take on, and that the whole process is simply to show that it&#8217;s possible to insert new models and animations into Sword and Shield.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2019\/11\/there_are_no_plans_to_bring_the_full_pokedex_to_pokemon_sword_and_shield_and_future_games_will_follow_suit\">Game Freak has already stated that a complete Pok\u00e9dex won&#8217;t be coming to the game<\/a>, and that future sequels may also ship with an incomplete Pok\u00e9dex.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we&#8217;re all painfully aware by now, Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield does not include a complete National Pok\u00e9dex, and a great many veteran &#8216;mon have been left out of the game.
