You know what I tried for the first time the other week? Fortnite<\/em>. I know, right? Since I have a phone that can actually run it now, I thought I\u2019d take it for a spin. It\u2019s ok\u2026 I mean I\u2019ve always known the format was quite interesting. I played the original PUBG<\/em> game back when it was still a mod for ArmA 3<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Not wholly convinced about playing it on a phone\u2026 might just download it on PS4 or something and play it that way instead. Still, it\u2019s a pretty interesting phenomenon and now that they\u2019ve released a Stormtrooper skin for it I can completely understand why it\u2019s earned so much money. Like, I want<\/strong> to buy that skin. If I end up playing the game more, I might just.<\/p>\n

Minecraft Earth (iOS & Android)<\/h3>\n

Bit of a cheat this one as it\u2019s only to say that the Early Access has now finally rolled out to people in the US. So if you\u2019re American and you\u2019ve been waiting to try out the Minecraft<\/em>-meets-Pokemon GO<\/em> hybrid, now you can!<\/p>\n

Hearthstone Battlegrounds (iOS & Android)<\/h3>\n

I know, I know, another cheat. In case you didn\u2019t spot this, Hearthstone Battlegrounds<\/em> is now available for everyone to play via the Hearthstone<\/em> client, not just those who pre-ordered the new Dragon card set for the main game. I\u2019ve written some initial thoughts along with some tactics & tips here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And\u2026 that\u2019s it? Again? They\u2019ll probably be more Apple Arcade games dropping today but we usually don\u2019t find out what those are till quite late, so I\u2019ll update the master list again on Monday. Lots of other free-to-play games have dropped that other sites have mentioned might be special, but I\u2019ll leave those to you guys to decide.<\/p>\n

Oh, there\u2019s Star Titan<\/em>, which is a side-scrolling run-and-gun game with mechs on both iOS<\/a> and Android<\/a> that costs $1.99. Not our usual fare, but there\u2019s precious little else to talk about this week. Here\u2019s a trailer:<\/p>\n

App Updates & News<\/h2>\n

Pacific Fire<\/h3>\n

One of the only decent mobile wargames to come out this year, Pacific Fire<\/em><\/a> has just been updated again with new scenarios that allow you to play from the Japanese perspective, including a mega-campaign that covers the entire war as the IJN. It\u2019s also now available on the Amazon App Store<\/a>, if that\u2019s a game-changer for you.<\/p>\n

I asked about an iOS version, and developer said they\u2019re working on it. Potentially by the end of the year, but either way it\u2019s definitely on its way.<\/p>\n

Stardew Valley<\/h3>\n

Farming\/Life Simulator Stardew Valley<\/em><\/a> is getting a huge update soon in the form of the 1.4 update. It essentially tackles a wide range of issues and it\u2019s main aim is to \u2018Polish\u2019 the experience and really improve the quality of life for all. Bug fixes, extra end-game content\u2026 you name it, it\u2019s probably being done. PC Players will be getting the update on November 26th, but Mobile and Console players will be following soon afterwards, so we\u2019ll let you know when it drops. Also if you\u2019ve been looking forward to the mobile release of Black Desert Online<\/em>, the global launch date has been set to December 11th, 2019<\/strong>. You can still pre-register at the official website<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Just to sum up what\u2019s been a bit of a lazy week in mobile-land, there aren’t even that many sales going around either. I imagine everyone\u2019s saving up their Big Sale Energy for Black Friday at the end of the month.<\/p>\n
