We’re going to go out on a limb and guess that you’ve probably<\/em> heard about the new Pok\u00e9mon<\/strong><\/a> game coming out very soon. Yes, we’re on the cusp of Gen VIII with the release of Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/strong><\/a> and very soon you’ll be able to choose between Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble before embarking on a journey through the brand new Galar region. Spiffing!<\/p>\n

Your choice of starter Pok\u00e9mon has been a key ingredient in the games since the original Pok\u00e9mon Red and Blue<\/strong><\/a>, and your selection can affect the first hours of the game quite significantly. The very act of choosing creates a bond and they’re the ‘mon you end up spending the most time with as they grow and (quite literally) evolve with you. It’s no wonder that starter Pok\u00e9mon (and their evolutions) are generally among the most popular Pocket Monsters in their respective games.<\/p>\n

But which are the best starter Pok\u00e9mon from the whole series to date? We’d like your help to sort the best starters from the total non-starters as we assemble, Avengers-style, the ultimate generational mix of Grass, Fire and Water.<\/p>\n

Today we’re kicking things off with the Fire-type starter Pok\u00e9mon, with Water and Grass to come soon. Below you’ll find the eight fiery beginner beasts from each generation – simply click your favourite and hit the ‘Vote’ button to register your pick. Whether you choose based on nostalgia, appearance or their potential evolutions is entirely up to you, but think carefully – you only get one pick. Obviously, Scorbunny is at a disadvantage seeing as very few people in the world right now have had a chance to bond with him, but then again he has the benefit of being the new bunny on the block.<\/p>\n
