Nintendo has revealed that it will be attending EGX 2019 in style, with tournaments, competitions and plenty of hands-on opportunities to go around.<\/p>\n

EGX is the UK’s biggest annual gaming show, with unreleased blockbusters and hundreds of indie games just waiting to be played by attendees. This year it’s taking place from 17th – 20th October at ExCeL London<\/strong> in the Docklands (more info and tickets are available here<\/a>). If you’re going to the event and take a wander over to the Nintendo stand, you can expect to try out all of these beauties:<\/p>\n

Last year had lots of playable games too, including Starlink: Battle for Atlas on Nintendo Switch<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On the Saturday, the Splatoon 2<\/strong><\/a> UK Championship 2019-2020 Qualifier will be taking place. You can find out everything you need to know about the Splatoon 2 UK Championships here<\/a>, but if you’re already thinking of signing up, you can go ahead and pre-register by sending an email to [email protected]<\/a> with the subject line ‘Splatoon 2 Tournament EGX 2019’. Just make sure to provide the names or tags of your team members!<\/p>\n

Even if you don’t have a full team, Nintendo says that it will “endeavour to match [you] with others looking to create a team if there is space in the tournament”.<\/p>\n

Then, on the Sunday, Nintendo will host the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/strong><\/a> UK Team Cup 2019-2020 Qualifier. Again, make sure to send an email to [email protected]<\/a> with the subject line ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament EGX 2019’ to pre-register for this one, providing the names or tags of your team members. You can also register at the event itself as long as there is still space available.<\/p>\n

Finally, there’s an exciting-sounding Legend of Zelda<\/strong> cosplay competition taking place, once again on the Saturday. Anyone cosplaying as any character from the franchise can take part in this; you’ll be invited on stage between 3pm and 4pm to strut your stuff, with professional cosplayers judging the contest. The winner will receive some tremendous prizes, so it’s absolutely worth it if you’re on the fence:<\/p>\n

Guess what? If you want to take part, make sure to send an email to [email protected]<\/a> with the subject line ‘The Legend of Zelda Cosplay’ to register. You’ll need to submit your contact details and the name of the character you’ll be cosplaying as. Entries for this one will close at 12 noon on 15th October.<\/p>\n
