Yuji Naka, who you’ll no doubt know as the lead programmer on the original Sonic the Hedgehog<\/strong> games, has revealed that he is working on an “original action game” at Square Enix.<\/p>\n

The Sonic creator joined Square Enix in January 2018; at the time, he said that he wished to “develop an enjoyable game”<\/a> without sharing any further details.<\/p>\n

In a new message posted to his social media channels this morning, in which he thanked fans for congratulating him on his 54th birthday, Naka-san refers to an “original action game” that is currently being made at Square Enix. Here’s the full message:<\/p>\n

“Thank you for your birthday message. Today I’m 54 years old. How many games will I be able to make by the retirement age, including the original action game that I’m currently making at Square Enix? I’d like to work hard to develop a game that everyone around the world can enjoy.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
