Famitsu’s Japanese chart figures are now in for 2nd – 8th September, revealing that the country has once again been gripped with Monster Hunter<\/strong> fever.<\/p>\n

Monster Hunter: World<\/strong>‘s Iceborne expansion released in Japan this week, and it’s safe to say that it has entirely dominated the charts. A Master Edition release containing the base game and the expansion sold more than 200,000 copies, and the Collector’s Package – made up of digital code purchases at retail stores – has secured it another 44,160 sales. Digital sales made directly from the PS Store aren’t included, so we dread to think how many copies have been bought in total.<\/p>\n

As such, Nintendo’s evergreen hits have had to shuffle down the pecking order a little this week. Astral Chain<\/a><\/strong>, last week’s number two, has fallen to sixth.<\/p>\n

The Switch console itself didn’t have quite the same level of success as last week, but that new, revised model<\/a> is still driving sales at a very healthy rate. Monster Hunter has also helped the PS4 to have a much stronger week than usual. Here are this week’s figures, followed by lifetime sales in brackets:<\/p>\n
